Great place. The atmosphere is amazing, the service is top notch. Friendly and welcoming. The food just makes it even better. The calamari and bruschetta were absolutely delicious. Absolutely delicious dinner. Highly recommend that if you live or visit the area you make a dinner stop here!
Found this place by a quick Google search of Italian restaurants. It was voted best Italian restaurant 14 years in a row. We were there on a Tuesday and did not have reservations. Apparently it was a dead night for them and we were seated within 20 minutes. We had some drinks at the bar while we waited. The bartender was really great he made solid cocktails and we had a great conversation. You can also eat at the bar. If we had a longer wait we would have done that. Service was top notch from the moment we walked. The host / maître d' was fantastic. Had great presence and another great conversation. Super accommodating as well. Food was fantastic and definitely fresh and made to order. The bread was served with multiple dipping options and came with fresh hot donuts that were a lot like Zeppoli Started with Zuppa Di Cozze fresh and full of flavor Main courses for the group Filet Mignon with Grilled Lobster Tail was 5 stars based on the person who ordered it. Linguini Alle Vongole again fresh and flavorful based on the person eating it. I had the Rigatoni Con Salsiccie Alla D'Raymonds Rigatoni with homemade hot sausage in a pink vodka creme sauce. This dish was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The pasta was aldente and the sauce has the perfect amount of cream. If I was local to the area I would definitely be a regular. There are so many dishes on the menu I need to try.
Pesce Alfredo at D Hammond’s A masterclass in balance, this seafood Alfredo delivers indulgence without overkill. The mafaldine pasta—those elegant, ruffled ribbons—cradle a velvety cream sauce that’s both rich and restrained. Each bite is a gentle wave of comfort, kissed with briny sweetness from perfectly cooked shrimp, lobster, and scallops. The green onion garnish adds a pop of freshness, while cracked black pepper brings just enough edge to keep things interesting. Visually, it’s a stunner: plated with intention, the seafood glistens like jewels in a sea of silk. It’s the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate the craftsmanship. Bonus points for the cozy bar backdrop—Tito’s signage and all—because nothing pairs with creamy seafood pasta like a well-earned cocktail and good company.
My mouth dropped when I saw the rating that D'Raymond's has on Yelp! This is one of my top two favorite Italian spots in the area. I love it so much that I asked my family to take me there for my birthday, and my boyfriend took me here when I got laid off to cheer me up! :) I have never been disappointed by D'Raymond's—ever. Their portions are huge, I always look forward to the complimentary fried dough buns because they're so good, the bread is fresh, and the food is mouthwatering. Their menu is diverse and has something for everyone—fish lovers, veal enthusiasts, and pasta fans. Some of my favorite appetizers are the antipasti, their massive mozzarella caruso (so cheesy and delicious!), and their Sicilian meatballs. This time, for my birthday, I had the manicotti—crepe-style pasta filled with ricotta cheese and fresh spinach, with the option of sausage, homemade meatballs, or both. And you bet I tried both. I definitely enjoyed the meatballs more! But I think my favorite entrée so far has been the Lobster Ravioli—the filling is insanely good, they definitely don’t skimp on the lobster, and it’s super filling. For dessert, my favorite so far is the chocolate toll house cake—it just hits different! But I’ve also had their cannoli, lava cake, and turtle cheesecake—all amazing. The staff at D'Raymond’s are always so sweet and patient. D'Raymond's, you'll always be a favorite!
For two folks that self-admittedly don't like Italian food, this completely blew us away! My partner isn't a big fan of pasta and I'm super picky about sauces since I make my own at home, but this restaurant totally surprised us on both fronts! They have plenty of dishes that aren't pasta forward or even include pasta at all, which is refreshing to see. My partner got the crab-stuffed veal and said it was amazing, one of the best meals they've had out. The bite I tried was great, and the mashed potatoes and green beans that came with the dish were perfectly cooked as well. I got the carbonara, something I've been historically picky about because most places won't make a "real" carbonara and instead do an Alfredo with some bacon and peas. This was the real deal though! I actually got some great ideas about how to improve my own carbonara from eating this meal, and the crispy prosciutto on top was a real treat! We sat at the bar because we didn't know we needed reservations (we know better now!) and the service was still great. I'm terrible with names, but the bartender was very friendly and attentive to everyone even with all the bar seating full and nearly everyone there ordering full meals. This is hands down the best Italian food I've had outside the NYC area, and we're already looking forward to our next time visiting. We'll be sure to make reservations next time
Long established Fine Italian restaurant located in Albany,NY. Professional wait staff. Extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of this 40 plus year old history of serving delicious meals to everyone who comes here. Ann, part owner of D'Raymonds, greeted us upon arrival. From the past of smoked filled booths to current. She made you feel welcomed. From wine to dessert, you knew you would leave satisfied. If you have never been here, what are you waiting for? I would strongly recommend reservations.
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to! The staff are very friendly, we received complimentary fried dough, and the food is the best in the area especially the specials which we tried multiple over a couple visits and they both went way beyond expectations. I'd like to mention specifically the sauces are incredible and unlike anything I've had at other restaurants. The wine menu is also excellent. If you like Italian food, pay D'Raymonds a visit, you won't be disappointed!
